Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of questionable actions involving young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
